In this project, I explored ways to combine the traditional craft of ceramics with modern rapid prototyping techniques. By digitally modeling a mug in 3D, I was able to 3D print a mold that served as the base for my plaster casting process. This approach allowed me to pour clay into the mold and produce a consistent series of ceramic mugs.
Through this experiment, I aimed to investigate how digital fabrication tools can enhance traditional making processes—bridging the gap between craftsmanship and technology, while maintaining the tactile and expressive qualities inherent to ceramics.
